Oldest area of Stockholm
Gamla Stan, known as “the old city,” is a small island in the middle of Stockholm. Here you can find Stockholm’s most charming part. The island is separated from the rest of the town by four bridges, but you can also reach it by subway.
You can visit museums, see the guard change at The Royal Palace or take a look at the art galleries. Gamla Stan is one of the most visited areas of Stockholm, with plenty of good restaurants and shops.
One of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe, and one of the most important attractions in Stockholm.
