From classical to Arte Povera
Wealthy patrons have ensured that art and design have always flourished in Turin art galleries. Now that the auto-boom years of the 20th century are behind it, the city is becoming better known for the quality of its artistic output. The 17th, 18th and 19th centuries are excellently represented across the city’s galleries. Modern art is best represented at the Castello di Rivoli, the GAM, and along the the Spina centrale, the city’s central spine, which is being used as an open-air sculpture park.
