Food and fashion
Bringing chocolates home from a trip abroad is often the default, last-minute airport purchase. In Turin, shopping means that buying chocolate, or any foodie product, is the ultimate souvenir. Europe’s largest open-air market, the Porta di Palazzo, is ideal for stocking up on Parmigiana Reggiano and prosciutto, but non-perishables such as clothes aren’t to be trusted. There’s big-name shopping on Via Roma; for Turin’s smaller fashion labels head to the boutiques in the Quadrilatero.
