A history of fine design
Many of the Venice museums are dedicated to Venetian past and present prowess, such as those of naval history, glass and lace making. The Jewish Museum gives us a glimpse of Jewish traditions and life in the Venetian Ghetto, whilst Ca' Rezzonico offers an insight into 18th-century Venetian patrician life. A word of warning to those travelling with children: don’t expect any fun didactic activities for kids. Venetian museums are much more of the ‘look and don’t touch’ variety.
