Centuries of creativity

Described by many as a village, Amsterdam packs the cultural punch of a city many times its size. While still retaining a bit of a ‘sex, drugs and rock 'n’ roll' reputation, Amsterdam is now more about being a ‘creative city’ where the high standards set by such Golden Age painters as Rembrandt are maintained. The city has become a global hub for art, design, architecture and advertising, but one where all its attractions are just a short and scenic bike ride away.

Belgian beer, graffiti Editors' Note

Café Belgique is one of the smallest pubs in Amsterdam, but it has a great heart. As its name implies, it offers a Belgian experience, with Belgian beers, and trendy, relaxed atmosphere.

Café Belgique is a favorite of the locals, and it’s regularly visited by expats, musicians, artists and DJ’s. While it may not look like much from the outside, inside you will find street-art like murals, by some of the same artists who sign other street art works that can be seen on the street leading to the cafe.
