Centuries of creativity

Described by many as a village, Amsterdam packs the cultural punch of a city many times its size. While still retaining a bit of a ‘sex, drugs and rock 'n’ roll' reputation, Amsterdam is now more about being a ‘creative city’ where the high standards set by such Golden Age painters as Rembrandt are maintained. The city has become a global hub for art, design, architecture and advertising, but one where all its attractions are just a short and scenic bike ride away.

Serving arguably the best pizzas in Amsterdam, La Perla expanded from a kitchen with a takeaway area and a few bar tables to a fully-fledged restaurant on the other side of the street. Whether you decide to eat in or take away, you won’t be disappointed with the pizza – all the ingredients come direct from farms in Italy!

Popular pizzeria Editors' Note

One of the most popular eateries in the De Jordaan neighborhood, La Perla is one of the many Italian restaurants in the area, but the best spot for pizza in town.

La Perla has a traditional wood-fired brick oven, which gives its pizza pies a taste very close to what you will find in the best pizzerias of Rome, Milan and Naples. Even some of the ingredients, like the authentic Mozzarella di Bufala, are flew in, twice weekly, from Naples.
