The ultimate Spanish holiday

With over 1000 places to eat, gorgeous beaches, and skyscraper architecture, Benidorm may be perceived as a premium summer destination, it is in fact rather affordable, and great for budget traveling. The city features numerous bazaars selling cheap leather, shoes and artisan products, including jewelry, pottery and paintings. For good family fun, check out the family water park Aqualandia, or a boat trip to the Isla de Benidorm wildlife sanctuary. Also don’t miss Altea, 12 km from Benidorm, a stunning original old town.

Natural beauty spot high in the mountains behind Altea Editors' Note

Fuentes de Algar (or the Algar Waterfalls) are among the most popular attractions along the Costa Blanca. The waterfalls can be found 3 miles from city center of Callosa de Ensarriá, direction Bolulla and Tárbena.

The trip to Fuentes de Algar follows a 1.5 km trail along the Algar River, with beautiful landscapes. This place is a veritable theme park about the environmental, economic and cultural importance of water. The waterfalls are a protected national park. There is also a Museum of the Environment on the site.
