The ultimate Spanish holiday

With over 1000 places to eat, gorgeous beaches, and skyscraper architecture, Benidorm may be perceived as a premium summer destination, it is in fact rather affordable, and great for budget traveling. The city features numerous bazaars selling cheap leather, shoes and artisan products, including jewelry, pottery and paintings. For good family fun, check out the family water park Aqualandia, or a boat trip to the Isla de Benidorm wildlife sanctuary. Also don’t miss Altea, 12 km from Benidorm, a stunning original old town.

Splendid vistas Editors' Note

Mirador del Castillo, also known locally as “El Balcón del Mediterráneo” boasts views over the magnificent artificial geyser that springs from the sea, along with a wide panoramic view of the city and its island.

Don’t forget your camera, the views are sublime. At Mirador del Castillo once stood the Benidorm Castle (Castillo de Benidorm). However, the castle’s few remains have been covered by the works of the promenade.
