Unusual mix of darkness and beauty

Lost in time – that’s how you feel in the heart of Bruges, Europe’s best preserved medieval city. This is a dreamy city that could convert the most modern poet into a romantic: nothing upsets the peace and equilibrium of this medieval destination - no high rises, rare neon lights and hardly any blights of modern development. A waffle stall on every corner, romantic carriages on every street, and an airy main square with 47 chiming bells are just some of the city’s unique features.

Famous Protected mill, and restaurant

Protected mill, and restaurant

Stay.com Editors' Note

Zandwegemolen was a corn and oil mill in Sint-Pieters-op-den-Dijk. It was built in 1860 and restored in 1932. More restoration works were carried in 2003-2005. The mill is a protected monument since 1982.

Zandwegemolen was converted into a restaurant by Gerard Stevens in 1970, and it still serves this purpose today. Here, you can enjoy a quick three-course daily special, a nice affordable business lunch, or a sophisticated dinner.
