A city of beautifully faded elegance

Panoramically divided by the Danube, Hungary’s capital exudes faded grandeur. Comprised of busy Pest and residential Buda, the Habsburg city of grand boulevards and elegant bridges was built in the late 1800s. With its five-star hotels, spa baths, landmark coffeehouses and key restaurants wonderfully restored, Budapest provides top-notch services. An underground counterculture and savage party scene complete the picture of this cool, modern city.

Wine Tours

The staff is great! They talk a lot about the different wines and give you recommendations. They have a great wine selection, including smaller, not so well-known wineries, which offer a new experience. Good food selection with a nice atmosphere, a rather modern interior, and most of the time you can find a seat.

Small batch and rare Hungarian wines Editors' Note

Apropó is a stylish downtown bar, well known for its exceptional offer of quality Hungarian wines, sourced from emerging artisans. The bar stocks several well known labels, but specializes in unknown, and uncommon wines, sourced from smaller cellars.

Apropó serves food too: expect the usual wine-pairing bites, like cured meats, cheeses, smoked paprika sausages, and so on. There are some warm snacks too, if you feel more than peckish: leg of duck confit with beet puree, or the locale’s specialty, Mangalitsa pork loin in horseradish sauce.
