Host of the annual Cannes Film Festival

It hosts one of the most prestigious International film festivals in the world, but Cannes is more than a travel destination for filmophiles. Fashionistas and fun-seekers will find an exclusive city with high-end restaurants, exotic nightlife, luxury boutiques, and designer fashion shops lining La Croisette. Cannes is an amazing experience for the posh traveler, but it attracts history lovers as well, as no other town on the French Riviera has such a dramatic and mysterious past. One example? The famous Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned on the Ile Sainte-Marguerite, half a mile off shore from the city.

Famous Attractive market

Attractive market Editors' Note

Marche Forville is a popular and attractive little market where the locals come to get their hands on the best quality local produce around. It’s actually a popular haunt for some of Cannes most well known chefs and restaurateurs.

There are a number of excellent shops nearby Marche Forville as well, for example bakeries and butchers shops. If you want something other than food, pop by on a Monday and check out the mini-flea market as well.
