The sheltered bay of Oʻahu

Traditionally, Honolulu is the urban area on the southeastern shore of the island of Oʻahu, one of the most exotic and popular destinations in the U.S. state of Hawaii. An ideal trip to Honolulu includes its palaces, museums, and art galleries, but the excitement comes with the rustic surf towns boasting local craft beers and famous beaches. Honolulu is the heart of Oʻahu’s art and culture scene, as exciting overall as its most famous beach, Waikiki.

USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park

Museum and memorial, honoring the submariners lost during World War II

Stay Editor's Note

A memorial since 1971, the Bowfin submarine is now part of the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, owned and operated by the Pacific Fleet Submarine Memorial Association. It is one of the main tourist attractions at Pearl Harbor, a must for your Honolulu travel guide.

The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park features exhibits and artifacts about submarines and the history of the United States Submarine Service. The Bowfin submarine itself is also a memorial honoring the 52 American submarines and the more than 3,500 submariners lost during World War II.
