America's adult playground

Known internationally as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas continues to live up to its name. No other place puts a package of non-stop escapism together like the city that truly doesn’t sleep. That’s because Las Vegas sits way out there on the cutting edge, always ready with a new desert mirage and forever willing to reinvent itself. And now, with a unique sort of intricate urbanism dawning, it’s gone from being just a fun weekend getaway to an interesting city with a lot to offer.

'The Happiest Place on Earth' Editors' Note

No head for drink? Then hand over $20 for puke insurance: if you barf, staff’ll clean up. Otherwise, you’re on your own at Double Down Saloon; ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’, they bill it, and with good reason.

The music is loud, whether from the impeccably punkish jukebox or the regular bands, and the vibe is welcoming. Specialties include Ass Juice ($3 each, three for $11) and bacon martinis (no one’s ever had two). Beers are a better bet.
