Capital of chic

The French capital boasts some of the most instantly recognizable, iconic monuments in the world, with Notre Dame cathedral, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower lined up in a great sweep along the River Seine. Yet for all its historic grandeur, elegant boulevards, world-class museums, chic boutiques and cosmopolitan buzz, Paris is also an intimate, intensely lived-in city, best discovered on foot. Each district has its own distinct style, bars, food market and village atmosphere.

The Tserkov Troitsy v Nikitinkakh or the Church of the Trinity is certainly one of the most beautiful churches in Moscow. It is located in Kitai-Gorod and is flanked by a number of obscure government buildings. It has an interesting architecture composed of colourful onion domes, adornments, carvings and decorations.

The Church of the Trinity was built in 1653 and its construction was largely funded by a local trader named Grigory Nikitinov.

During the Soviet era, the church was converted into a museum. Restoration work has been done recently in the interior section of the Church of the Trinity. Inside the church you will find a number of striking 17th century religious frescoes made by the famed artist, Simon Ushakov.
