A city of Miracoli

Unlike Florence, which is highly commercialized, Pisa is serene and laid-back. Known all over the world for its leaning tower (Torre pendente) and the Campo dei Miracoli, Pisa still stays the least-known of the Italian cities. A Rennaisance city that was once a wealthy seaport, it welcomes today tourists from all over the world with its Pisan-Romanesque style churches, the Campo Santo (the most beautiful cemetery in the world), trattorias, boutiques, and an atmosphere of cultured bohemia.

This is the place for an “Aperitivo”. The Aperitivo is a lovely italian pre-dinner ritual: you order a low-alcohol drink and it comes with a small, complimentary offering of nuts, olives, bread, cheese or cold cuts. Ask for an Italian wine or a craft beer.

Popular wine and craft beer bar Editors' Note

Cecco Rivolta is one of the best destinations for good artisan wines in Pisa. Cecco offers several wines, carefully selected, to offer you the best of the region. If you don’t know what to choose, don’t be afraid to ask for advice.

Besides wines, Cecco Rivolta also offers cold snacks, small platters, and signature sandwiches. The bar has very little room inside, and a few tables in front of the entrance. If you want to grab a seat, you need to come early.
