Modern meets traditional in grand old Prague

Whilst many European cities have gradually modernised and adapted a 21st century look, Prague excels at changing with the times whilst remaining classically beautiful. Strolling around town, you get a sense of Prague’s rich and troubled history, but the culture of old-meets-new cosmopolitan desires to embrace the weekend-away spirit. As for shopping, unearth beautiful craftsmanship and wonderful jewelry.

A symbol of love and peace Editors' Note

In the early 1980s the young citizens of Prague started painting and writing on an otherwise plain wall, covering it up with portraits of John Lennon and The Beatles, and lines from their songs. The Lennon Wall was a constant aggravation for the communist regime of the time.

Today, the wall is a symbol of love and peace. Despite that the authorities repainted the wall once, the graffiti frenzy continued. The current owner, the Knights of the Maltese Cross, allowed street art to continue on the Lennon Wall. Every time you visit you’ll find something different, as many artists come to express themselves, painting on top of already existing creations.
