Modern meets traditional in grand old Prague

Whilst many European cities have gradually modernised and adapted a 21st century look, Prague excels at changing with the times whilst remaining classically beautiful. Strolling around town, you get a sense of Prague’s rich and troubled history, but the culture of old-meets-new cosmopolitan desires to embrace the weekend-away spirit. As for shopping, unearth beautiful craftsmanship and wonderful jewelry.

Modern Czech fare at its finest, Sisters serves the famous chlebíčky (open-face sandwiches) but then with a difference. Gone are the ham, cheese and margarine of the traditional variety. Instead, think seasonal, organic toppings like herring and wasabi, goat’s cheese and beetroot, and celeriac remoulade.

Have you heard of Czech “chlebíček”? It means “little bread, ” and it’s a traditional party snack. Sisters offers a modern twist on this classic and their “chlebíčeks” are not to be missed out! Make sure you try their beetroot goat cheese chlebíček or pork cabbage one!

Gourmet chlebíčky Editors' Note

Sisters is a cozy bistro, famous for its chlebíčky - the typical Czech open-faced sandwich. The bistro was founded by Hana Michopulu a food writer, journalist and former editor-in-chief of Apetit magazine.

Sisters was inspired by both local chlebíčky, but also by the famous Scandinavian smorrebrod, which influences the menu a great deal. If you ever wanted a gourmet sandwich, this is the place to get it. The menu features vegetarian choices, but also several meats, hams and fish chlebíčky.
