Nature, at superlative

Reykjavik is a destination for nature lovers, a family-friendly location that offers some of nature’s most spectacular views: the northern lights, beautiful blue lagoons, whale watching, horseback riding, air tours, boat trips and kayaking on the coast of the fjords. Every district of the city hosts a number of thermal pools, filled with geothermal heated water, and spas offering the renowned all-Icelandic volcanic treatments. Reykjavik boasts an enchanting blend of old timber houses and contemporary architecture, with a cozy atmosphere, vibrant street life, and the best shopping experience in Iceland.

Record Shop

The best venue in downtown Reykjavík for live music, be it alternative, metal, dark-wave or indie. The DJs are pretty good as well.

Dive bar with live music shows Editors' Note

Húrra Bar is a bar that also puts on live music performances. The vibe varies according to which night you go, with a wide variety of music genres represented. People love that there’s reasonable prices on drinks and a wide range of beers on offer. The place is known for being hipster but friendly.

There’s jazz every Monday which is a good opportunity to benefit from a more relaxed and social atmosphere. Candles dotted around the rooms add to the intimate feeling, especially on event nights.
