Nature, at superlative

Reykjavik is a destination for nature lovers, a family-friendly location that offers some of nature’s most spectacular views: the northern lights, beautiful blue lagoons, whale watching, horseback riding, air tours, boat trips and kayaking on the coast of the fjords. Every district of the city hosts a number of thermal pools, filled with geothermal heated water, and spas offering the renowned all-Icelandic volcanic treatments. Reykjavik boasts an enchanting blend of old timber houses and contemporary architecture, with a cozy atmosphere, vibrant street life, and the best shopping experience in Iceland.

Cooking Classes

This restaurant is hands down my absolute favorite in Iceland. If you are a foodie, this is not to be missed. A tasting menu with 3, 5 or 7 courses is the only thing you can choose from and you are in for a real foodie treat. Unusual, the menu features local ingredients prepared according to the New Nordic cuisine and you will want to savour every little bite. It is a bit hard to find the restaurant, as it is situated in the Nordic House (designed by star architect Alvar Aalto) and you will have to walk about 15 - 20 minutes from the city centre.

There’s not much to say about this restaurant other then it is the nicest & best restaurant in Iceland. I am a bit biased because we designed some pieces for the space & I’m friends with the chef / owner Gunnar Karl Gíslason. If you want an experience, not just a dinner- then go here. You may have to plan ahead though because they are booked weeks & months in advance.

Iceland’s most innovative restaurant. Go for the 7 course set menu with wine pairing. It’s amazing.

Iceland’s finest Nordic restaurant Editors' Note

DILL Restaurant is arguably Iceland’s finest Nordic restaurant, and received its first Michelin start in 2017. They exude a contemporary, trendy Nordic vibe, which makes the place particularly popular for weekend evenings.

Everything is good on DILL’s menu, and their seasonal menu offers the best of innovative Nordic cuisine, with new flavors and a beautiful wine list to match each dish perfectly. It’s a memorable meal not to be missed.
