Nature, at superlative

Reykjavik is a destination for nature lovers, a family-friendly location that offers some of nature’s most spectacular views: the northern lights, beautiful blue lagoons, whale watching, horseback riding, air tours, boat trips and kayaking on the coast of the fjords. Every district of the city hosts a number of thermal pools, filled with geothermal heated water, and spas offering the renowned all-Icelandic volcanic treatments. Reykjavik boasts an enchanting blend of old timber houses and contemporary architecture, with a cozy atmosphere, vibrant street life, and the best shopping experience in Iceland.

Cooking Classes

This restaurant is a French bistro and a rather good one. There will be no surprises, there will be no frills – just good food that gives you comfort while eating. Conveniently situated, just off the main street Laugavegur.

If there is any place that reminds me of LA- it is this place. I love going there for brunch & getting the eggs benedict, but they have a really good menu throughout the day. I like to sit under the plants in the little sunroom addition. We like to go in the off-hours though, because it sometimes becomes a “who’s who” type of a place.

A bistro serving among other things great fish as the dish of the day during lunch time. A very nice atmosphere.

Trendy gourmet bistro Editors' Note

Founded by chef Stefan Melsted, Snaps is a popular gourmet bistro, offering an excellent Scandinavian menu, based on the catch of the day, fish, meats and fresh farm produce.

One of the most popular mains, Moule Frite (mussels with white wine, french fries and aioli) is also the most affordable. If you are not too hungry, try an open sandwich.

Snaps can be found at Hotel Odinsve, and you don’t need to be a guest of the hotel to dine here. But make sure you call for reservations: the place is popular, and usually booked.
