Guarding the city

Stay.com Editors' Note

Looking back, beyond the old part of the city, is Monte Urgul guarding over San Sebastian like a quiet benefactor. The sunsets from this vantage point are breathtaking, as you’ll discover.

The top of the mountain shows a statue of Jesus Christ, much like the one in Rio de Janeiro. Mota Castle, the city’s fortified castle, lies on top of the mountain. The walking trails are incredible and offer you beautiful views of the city. A guided tour is also available.
