A city for all seasons

Home of the Habsburgs, the capital of classical music, and the multicultural melting pot of Mitteleuropa, Vienna is one of Europe’s most fascinating cities. Its slow-paced life, architectural variety, and intensely seasonal cultural and gastronomic pleasures make Vienna an ideal destination for visitors. Get ready for balmy summer evenings at wine taverns, mugs of mulled wine at Christmas markets, and strolls through historic streets.

Kirche am Steinhof, a Roman Catholic Church, sits1017 feet high above sea level, dominating the landscape with its strikingly beautiful gold trimmed white exterior. It was designed by architect Otto Wagner and built between the years 1903-1907. The mosaics and stained glass are by Koloman Moser.

The exterior of Kirche am Steinhof is remarkable from the magnificent golden dome to the sparkling decorations under the roof line. There is an organ in the rear gallery built by Franz Josef Swoboda. The altar is another work of art. This church was selected to grace a collectors coin. The Austrian 100 euro Steinhof Church commemorative coin was minted in November of 2005.
