A city for all seasons

Home of the Habsburgs, the capital of classical music, and the multicultural melting pot of Mitteleuropa, Vienna is one of Europe’s most fascinating cities. Its slow-paced life, architectural variety, and intensely seasonal cultural and gastronomic pleasures make Vienna an ideal destination for visitors. Get ready for balmy summer evenings at wine taverns, mugs of mulled wine at Christmas markets, and strolls through historic streets.

An interactive Sound Museum in the 1st District Editors' Note

House of Music (Haus der Musik) is located in a former Habsburg palace. Six floors allow you to explore music in fascinating ways. Test your own musical abilities as you experiment with musical instruments, pitch, and sound. Try composing your own waltz and conducting with Virtual Conductor.

House of Music (Haus der Musik) is a modern, hands-on Musical Sound Museum. On one floor you can experience the sonosphere, where you’ll feel sound like an embryo in the womb. Electronic music is featured in the future-sphere and there is the Brain Opera. This museum is one of a kind, fun and educational.
